I have been looking in the forums for days now. I am just running in circles--I try this, I try that, but keep being redirected to the same places. I need help.

It is probably just because I do not have the slightest idea what I am doing by now, but I am completely lost!

I installed the program okay. I tried to setup a tuner, I set up an HDHomerun and followed directions on modifying the bda drivers.

I ran the filter.exe, or whatever it is called, and it says that I have two tuners set up.

I think maybe I have more than one problem. I can run the GBPVR program okay, but I get no guide (if I select the listings, the program does not respond and I have to use ctrl-alt-del).

I also can't get Live TV to work. I think it is because I have no guide setup, but I have no idea how to do it. I have read post after post and either I can't figure it out or it doesn't work.

Can I have step-by-step directions on how to set up the guide? I already have a zap2it account set up and configured. I found a link that was supposed to have step-by-step directions but it was dead.

From what I can tell, I am supposed to have an xml file somewhere for the program to use, but how do I get it? The zp2it website gave directions but it didn't work. I downloaded a file and ran it. It looks like a DOS box and very quickly flashes words up then closes. But i can't find any files!

I apologize for not being specific, but I don't even know what to ask. After installing the program, I want to use zap2it with an HD Homerun.

As I have said, I checked the FAQs, the Quick Start, the Survival guide, and tons of other posts, but I am dead in the water.

Thanks!

First, if you're using the zap2it website then you need to get this program and follow the instructions from here http://zap2xml.110mb.com/

You can then let gbpvr know the location of the xml file that the tool generates.
You can do this in the config app.

You'll probably want to set the zap2xml app to run nightly.
Try this tutorial from the wiki http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc5

Good so far.

The lock up is definitely because you have no guide set up

Yup. This is because you haven't mapped any channels yet (need the guide data first). Do what Carlito suggested then if you still have trouble, we can go from there.

That is the program that I tried. A DOS window opens, then closes. I don't see that anything happens. I even searched my hard drive for new files and found nothing. Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but how does it work?

Step three in those instruction says: "Run zap2xml with the userEmail and password options of your account." Am I supposed to run the zap2xml.exe file that is created? When I do, nothing happens. I tried to run it from the Run box with the command line arguments, but it still does not work.

yeah, you need to download the zap2xml.exe file
then from the commandline (or a batch file) run it with the required parameters
ie. zap2xml.exe -u yourusername -p yourpassword

This will generate the xml file that gbpvr needs

I got the EPG to work. I was trying it with the Run box. when I tried it with the Command Prompt it worked!

But now Live TV doesn't do anything. Also, if I choose Watch from the EPG, nothing happens.

Edit the capture source in Config.exe and hit the "Map digital channels to EPG channels". Let it scan the channels on your HDHomeRun. Then map the found channels to the channels in the guide by selecting them from the dropdown list. You will need to do it for each tuner.

Steps 11-15: http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtop...6a36732c2a

I've already tried this several times. It seems to work ok for Tuner 0, but when I try it with Tuner 1, and I hit the "Map digital channels to EPG channels", the program gives me this error: "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use."

Double check the info in the bda.ini file - I bet you have a typo or something (especially the XXXXXXXXXX part for tuner 1)

I've double-checked and triple-checked that. No luck.
