A couple of weeks ago when i was watching live TV on the MVP, i put the MVP into standby. When i came back a few hours later and brough the MVP out of standby, it was unable to connect to the recording service do to no tuner being available.

I restarted the services on the computer and things where fine. This was with the integrated MVP services within GBPVR. I have not tried those steps again but will do tonight and see what happens. I probably started live TV from the main menu.

OK, I'll try a different approach.

What if you had a watch dog service running, maybe every 10 minutes or so, and that service is written to monitor the state of GB-PVR. Then when a user or yourself identifies as possible problem, code could be added to the monitor to assist in tracking down the problem. In this case, it could see if a recording that was scheduled to start at a certain time, actually started and if it didn't it could log it, notify the user and possibly email the log to you.

Just a thought.

I always access it from the guide, not from selecting Live TV from the main menu.

Sub,

I was able to recreate this problem on my second try. Here is the procedure I followed:

1. Schedule recording.
2. Before recording is suppose to start, watch liveTV. Changes channels once or twice. <-- This may be important. First time I tried it, I didn't try changing the channels.
3. Stop liveTV before scheduled recording is suppose to start.
4. Put MVP in standby.
5. Wait for recording to start.
6. Check for file in recordings directory.

I emailed the mdb and log files to your email address.
