1. Can someone explain to me the benefit of the 2250 over the 1800?

2. Any idea how long it will take this card to be officially supported by GBPVR?

I'm building a new system and hoping to have it ready around March 1st.

Its a dual tuner model, wheras the HVR1800 is single tuner.

It'd probably already work with GB-PVR. If not, then I expect it'd only require a minor tweak to the bda.ini file.

The 1800 has 2 tuners - but do you mean only 1 can be used at the same time - whereas the 2250 can record from both simultaneously?

The 1800 has an analog tuner and a digital tuner, so it cant be used to record two analog channels or two digital channels. The HVR2250 is capable of this.

Its no clear to me whether you can do two analog and two digital recordings all at the same time on an HVR2250 though...

I've been waiting for this card to arrive without seeing any sight of it...
So I emailed Hauppauge sales who responded with this:

This should be available this coming May.

The WinTV-HVR-2250 has two complete on-board analog and digital TV receivers, which allow users to watch and record two NTSC, ATSC or clear QAM digital cable TV programs at the same time.

From what I've heard, there are no plans for a PCI version.

i've seen a HVR 1250 in stores...i'm guessing it's a single tuner version of this.
i'm wondering tho if there are any other enhancements over their old cards..
[like say, the timestamp bug?]
