OK, i'm in Auckland New Zealand and am having trouble with the sound.

I've downloaded the MONOGRAM aac codec the 0.0.9 ?? version and registered it, but I still have no sound. I am obviously missing some important step, I just have no idea what it is.

I've also got a simple question around jittery video playback, mainly on TV3 (higher definition than 1 and 2). I'm running on board graphics, is this the most likely reason (before I start trying the things in the sticky).

Thanks in advance.

The PC is dual core 3.2Ghz, 1GB ram. OB sound and video.

It looks like when you setup your capture source, you enabled the AC3 versions of the channels instead of the AAC ones. The AC3 audio channels dont always seem to have audio on them, but for them to work you'd probably need to install an AC3 capable audio decoder like AC3Filter. (or recreate your capture source and select the AAC ones)

TV3 is harder on the machine than TV1/TV2, so your machine probably isnt quite up to the job.

ok,

Installed AC3 filter, set up a capture source for the AC3 and get sound on the ac3 encoded signals. Set up another capture source for the AAC channels and not sound. I'm not getting any Monogram options in the Audio Decode drop down list.

new set of log files attached.

I'm pretty similar, have a new build, fresh install of Vista H Prem
E8200 Duo, 2GB ram
Corsair 620W PSU, HD3870HT
Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R mATX

Had installed 1.2.9 over the earlier version, have also installed Power DVD Ultra & AC3 Filter. Latest ati & realtek drivers.

I've run graphedit on recorded TV3, get it parsing sound via Power DVD to either AC3 filter, or when I unloaded this, to directsound.

Interestingly, I can hear sound on recorded TV, though its not syncing (I see that's a known issue with monogram), and I can also get sound once I start a manual record ie; when it's recording.

I've tried all versions of monogram aac - same issue.

Pretty frustrating - I've pretty much got everything else working fine now, epg etc.

This is the one missing link.

TV3 is only transmitting AAC audio as far as I'm aware, so it shouldnt be possible to get audio with just the PowerDVD or AC3Filters. As far as I'm aware you'd need to use the Monogram AAC decoder to get any audio with this channel. I could be wrong though, so if you want to post a screenshot of the graphedit graph you used I'll look into the viability of your scheme for use in GB-PVR.

In your logs it looks like you dont have the Monogram AAC decoder installed correctly, so its not being found when the app needs it.

This is normal. The Monogram decoder is currently the only decoder that will handle AAC LATM audio streams, so I didnt bother providing a drop down filter select the AAC LATM decoder. I'll add one in a future release when other decoders options appear.

I've attached an updated filter that will help with playback of recordings that include an AC3 sound track. It still has audio sync issues that I'm looking into, but it will at least give you some audio on AC3 recordings of TV1/TV2.

I'll do that when I get home. Yeah it was funny, the TV3 audio going to ac3, that's why I uninstalled it off my system just to make sure it wasn't going where it shouldn't. Now I get silence on all channels (was watching the ac3 Ch 1 and 2).
