From GSpot:

CLVSD.AX version 8.1.1026 11/14/2007

What is the newest and how can I easily get?

I have that new 780g ATI/AMD motherboard and this version is not hardware accelerating. I believe a newer one will run great, if I can find it.

only 'legit' place to get it is the newest version of powerdvd7..

i doubt any 'codec packs' have the newest versions..usually quite old..

Ok, download cyberlink, copied clvsd.ax new one to system32, unregistered old one from codecpack directory, registered new clvsd.ax

Now it doesn't show up in GBPVR as a choice..did I do something wrong there??

Sub-

Is it possible there is something new and different that is causing the new cyberlink decoder to not be seen in GBPVR? Maybe they changed a name or something?

I think there is an entry in config.xml near the top, something like "supporteddecoders" and ISTR the decode name has to be in there for config to find it.
Search for cyberlink in config.xml

As martin said, find the exact name of the decoder and check it's included inthe <SupportedDecoders> setting in config.xml. Also post the exact name so I can add it to the master list.

It's the new cybervideo, but I don't know what it shows up as in the system. The filename is the same.

Where could I find the name it posts as in the system?

Download GraphEdit, select the 'insert filter' menu option, then expact the 'directshow' category and scroll down to the decoders starting with 'Cyberlink'.

CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD8)

That's the name (I think). I used notepad and opened up clvsd.ax and did a search for the word cyber and finally I came upon that. I still have to try it out live, since I am currently away and using vnc. I will report tonight.

My version is 8.1.0.1415 and the file date is 2/12/08 (the date is from memory)

Let's hope this hardware accelerates my integrated graphics board.

What type of video file are you trying to accelerate?

You will find that many avi/mkv files are not encoded to the DXVA standards.
