I've just downloaded and installed the latest version of GBPVR, run through the quick start guide but when I "Map digital channels to EPG" and it does the scan, it doesn't find any digital channels at all.

I'm using an AverMedia Volar USB DVB-T tuner, and when I use it's own program to scan for channels, it also comes up with nothing.

My concern here is that the Volar doesn't work with DVB-T in New Zealand. I'm aware that the main system hasn't been turned on, but I figured there would at least be a couple of test signals that I can tune into.

So, my questions are:
1) Are there test signals that I can tune into?
2) Is the MPEG rating of the tuner dependent on software or hardware? This tuner is apparently MPEG2, and the NZ signal is MPEG4. My understanding was that the tuner just passed on the signal to the software, and it didn't matter what format it came in on until it hit whatever was displaying it.
3) What do I need to do to get a signal?

Thanks in advance.

Do a scan then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll check there is no errors.

All the DVB-T channels are already live, so if you're in an area that is going to receive DVB-T, and have a decent antenna point the correct way, then you should receive something.

All PC DVB-T tuners are capable of of either MPEG2 or MPEG4. This is really a software thing rather than hardware.

Here you go.

Thanks for clearing up the MPEG2/4 thing, I figured it was a software thing for cards like this, just wasn't 100% sure.

I've installed the latest drivers from the AverMedia website too, the AverTV program supports HD recordings, but still doesn't find any channels.

Aha! Problem was not enough signal. Going to have to find a way to resolve that, currently having the aerial powered from a jack one end of the room, sitting on a chair in the middle of the room and attached to a computer at the other end is not going to go down well.

Ok, new problem.

GBPVR comes up with a blank screen when I click "Live TV", then comes back to the menu. It's found about 5 channels on the scan, and all show in the channels tab of the config.

It plays Video/Audio from my HDD fine.

AverTV shows crystal clear picture, but doesn't have any sound.

Ok, I have this working now.

In case other people have this problem the solution is this:
Install Cyberlink PowerDVD Deluxe 7.x

Download the Monogram Codec, and place it in the directory with GB-PVR - i.e. C:/Program Files/devnz/GB-PVR

This is the codec: http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2008/03/15...oder-0930/

TV3/4 are a bit choppy, but that's a reception problem Sad
