Hauppauge remote problems

Have been trying to get GB set up on various computers..started with a little embedded Via 1.2 Gigapro...with 512 Meg and WinTV 150 and XP pro it doesnt exactly fly but it works ok...Hauppauge's wintv2000 and beyond tv 3.2 both work fine, but I cant seem to get the remote to work right with GB,particularly on time-shifted tv...pausing and just restarting works okay mostly but everything else pretty much goes to crap...sound dies and live tv seems to run on ahead but no sound...I cant find much about setting/changing anything on the remote, I have just been able to enable it or pick a different one...saw another post about remote.ini...Do I need to edit this? where? how? just manually? If I could get the remote to work I would really like GB a lot better

The problem you're describing doesn't really sound like it's due to the remote. I have a feeling you would see the same problem if you used the keyboard to control GB-PVR instead of the remote. Try it out, and if I'm right then you're looking at a system performance issue, not a remote issue. You can find all the keyboard commands elsewhere in the documentation.

I agree it sounds like you having other problems, but you should be able to get your remote functioning by clicking the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app.

I had sypmtoms of that using some beta drivers to fix the 150 remote issue (stalls, loss of sound, etc). I went back to old drivers, and had to give up that remote for now (have a spare programmable).

Don't know if it's related or not. If there are earlier versions of the drivers (or newer ones) for the unit or remote, try them.

System issues I might agree with if I wasn't having mostly the same problems on more than one system (issues with the remote in GB, that is) Also, on the same system(s) that I have these problems on, the remote works perfectly in Wintv2000 and BeyondTV. I'm not trying to dish this by the way, I am just trying to figure it out. I would really like to get this working.I have a pvr150 in one system(the embedded via) and a 250 in another (a biostar ideq with an athlon 2500+...I thought maybe the other one was having performance issues )Via chipsets can do weird things..any issues there you think? Also maybe I have video/overlay issues...running 9.0c Directx I think..somebody suggested 9.0b? And is there someplace I can find exactly what/how its supposed to work? Like is there a time bar like in Beyond that you navigate in? Cuz if there is Im not seeing it
