I've installed v1.2.9 of GBPVR using a Hauppauge 1800 with source from a DTV STB via s-video. I've got SchedulesDirect and was able to get the channel listings.

In PVRX2, I can view the channels but when I click on 'Watch', the screen will go blank and after a couple of seconds will go back to the TV Guide.

The only video renderer for PVRX2 that seems to work for me is VMR9 Custom and Overlay Manager. 'Work for me' means I can actually launch PVRX2. Other options will give me an error message "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video renderer.'

Have to add that this is the first time I've used GBPVR or any kind of PVR software.

My graphic card is nvidia 9600GT.

Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Does you capture device work in the Hauppauge WinTV software? It looks like one of the critical components is missing from your machine.

When I run WinTV, it was not able to scan any channels. Did not get past that stage. The 1800 did showed up in device manager as installed though. I'm not sure how else to verify if it's actually working. How can I test the capture card?

I'm pretty sure the drivers are not fully functioning on this device. Try uninstalling the drivers then reinstalling them.

I've re-installed the drivers for the HVR-1800 but WinTV is still unable to scan any analog or digital channels. When I launched PVRX2 again, I randomly picked a channel to watch but a different channel came on.

The HVR-1800 came with a MCE remote and receiver/blaster but I could not find drivers for the transceiver.
In GBPVE config, I had selected MCE2005,
Device profile: FireDTV,
Device blaster: Both Blasters
Zero pad channel numbers-unchecked
Send ENTER/OK after transmission-unchecked
Use three digit channel numbers-unchecked

Dont use the built in MCE2005 Changer Changer option. It was never completed (it kind of works for some people, but they're just lucky). Instead follow the tutorial on the wiki for using HIP / HIPSend instead (or use IR Server Suite).

I've switched over to HIP but still cannot change the channel. The 'OK' button seems to be doing a 'double-click' as well.

If you run hipsend from the command line does it change channels correctly?

I did not realized that HipSend was a seperate app and I need to teach HIP all the keys on the remote. I will try that and post back the results.

I've followed the HIP setup in the wiki fully this time but still could not get the channel to change using the MCE remote.

In the wiki, the 'show class' was listed as 'WindowsForm10.Window.8.app4', mine shows up as 'GDI+Hook Windows Class' and that was the only choice I had.

Also, whenever I exit the perferences, it will ask me 'The HIP Control Key has not Defined. Are you sure you wish to Close?' Not sure what control key to define, I click 'Yes'. Is this correct?
