When i play back a recorded show, the audio is slightly faster
then the video. I'm using a hauppauge 350 for the output to the TV.

Ah yes... I have a similar issue and it varies from not being noticeable at all to being just slightly annoying. I have never been able to get rid of it totally. Have a look at this thread and see if it helps you.

Same problem here. I think it's only when using the PVR350s own output. Using software rendering it seems to be in sync but then I get dropped frames.

I have had (and still have occasionally) the same issue.

What works for me:
- Defrag the harddrive(s)
- Reboot your system before playback (annoying, but always works for me)

I agree with Josan. Defrag. Do it every day to keep the bad files away!! I am a poet and I don't know it!!

I do need to defrag, think my drive was about 95% fragmented last time I checked, and didn't run the full thing. But it doesn't seem like a fragmentation problem, the dropped frames aren't random it's as if it's consistently half the frame rate, and if it was a fragmentation issue surely I'd get the same problem when playing through the PVR 350s output? I'm wondering if it's something to do with interlacing maybe.

What are the best software renderers to use? I can't remember what I have listed (parents are watching a DVD right now so can't check) but think it's Cyberlink ATI and Intervideo NonCSS or something, and I have default selected.

I have no control over the sync. Its entirely up to the decoder hardware on the PVR350.

If your disk is heavily fragmented, sometimes the PVR350's decoder cant get data at the rate it needs and the streams lose sync. This is the only reason I've seen things out of sync in the past.

I had the same problem; audio and video out of sync when using the PVR-350 output, but I had the problem with SageTV (sorry, I am no GBPVR user. But maybe my solution will help you, since it worked for SageTV and Hauppauge's WinTV).

After an update of my motherboards BIOS the problem was solved.
(I have a VIA EPIA M10000 with bios v1.16)

It's funny that you mention Sage. I briefly tested Sage TV and was almost ready to put down the cash for it when I constantly had a sync problem. That was one of the reasons I started trying GB-PVR. Now, it's all good.
