I've recently started to build a PVR. I'm using GB-PVR (obviously) on XP on an Athlon 1.4 GHz, 512 MB machine. GB-PVR works fine by itself, but if I try to enable ffdshow, even with it not doing anything, my cpu usage goes to 100% on video playback. Do I just not have enough power to run it? Or is something else going on?

Also, does GB-PVR not use ffdshow during time-shifted live TV? During recorded show playback, I can put ffdshow info up on the OSD, but during live TV (time-shift on), I can't show anything up on the OSD and I don't go to 100% cpu, like I do during recorded playback.

FFDShow is very CPU intensive, especially if you are doing anything with resizing of the video. Some of the other filters that it has built in aren't as CPU intensive. If you don't have at least a 2.4 ghz machine or faster, I would stay away from FFDShows resize option.
