Even though I can tune into E4 using Hauppauge WinTV, GBPVR refuses to detect it on C45 from Sandy Heath, UK. All the other TV channels on this multiplex including ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, Channel 4, More 4, Channel 4+1 are there but not E4.

I have tried upgrading to GBPVR 10213 from version 10209 but that can't pick up E4 either and always keeps crashing whenever it begins to scan multiplex 6 so I had to uninstall it and revert to the previous version.

See attached logs. I've included every long from when I tried to scan for E4 and when GBPVR 10213 crashed an I reverted to version 10209.

ITV4 is also there on C45, but E4 is missing. How can I tune it in?

I found the following in the Config.exe-3 file.

E4 is being detected but it will not come up in the channel list or EPG.

<service>
<service_name>Channel 4</service_name>
<channel_num>4</channel_num>
<TSID>8194</TSID>
<service_ID>8384</service_ID>
<service_type>1</service_type>
<pmt_PID>300</pmt_PID>
<pcr_PID>2307</pcr_PID>
<video_PID>560</video_PID>
<audio_PID lang="eng" audio_type="0">561</audio_PID>
<audio_PID lang="eng" audio_type="3">562</audio_PID>
<dvbsub_PID lang="eng" type="16" composition="2" ancillary="2">563</dvbsub_PID>
</service>
<service>
<service_name>E4</service_name>
<channel_num>29</channel_num>
<TSID>8194</TSID>
<service_ID>8448</service_ID>
<service_type>1</service_type>
<pmt_PID>304</pmt_PID>
<pcr_PID>0</pcr_PID>
<video_PID>0</video_PID>
</service>
<service>
<service_name>More 4</service_name>
<channel_num>14</channel_num>
<TSID>8194</TSID>
<service_ID>8442</service_ID>
<service_type>1</service_type>
<pmt_PID>270</pmt_PID>
<pcr_PID>2307</pcr_PID>
<video_PID>590</video_PID>
<audio_PID lang="eng" audio_type="0">591</audio_PID>
<audio_PID lang="eng" audio_type="3">592</audio_PID>
<dvbsub_PID lang="eng" type="16" composition="2" ancillary="2">593</dvbsub_PID>
</service>

Code:
<service>
<service_name>E4</service_name>
<channel_num>29</channel_num>
<TSID>8194</TSID>
<service_ID>8448</service_ID>
<service_type>1</service_type>
<pmt_PID>304</pmt_PID>
<pcr_PID>0</pcr_PID>
<video_PID>0</video_PID>
</service>
If you look at the line in the snippet above, it shows a video_PID of zero and it doesn't have any audio_PID entries which basically suggests it's not transmitting at the time of the scan (look at the audio/video PID entries for the other channels). GB-PVR ignores channels without a video PID.

Cheers,
Brian

At the time of scan E4 was transmitting Big Brother Live.

In that case, go to the GBPVR\BDA folder and delete any scan cache files you have and try again.

It's possible they moved E4 on the Sandy Heath transmitter and the cached information could be confusing the process. I seem to remember this has happened on other transmitters. I may be wrong but it's worth a try.

Cheers,
Brian

In the Config app:

Capture Sources tab --> Edit --> Recording Source Settings --> BDA Advanced Settings --> Ignore PMT CRC errors during scan .

This has fixed E4 for me and for others. But, you must promise not to watch more than eight hours of Big Brother each day.

Good Luck
