Hi All,
I'm new to the PVR thing: just bought a HVR-1600 and installed GB-PVR following the wiki quick start. At first I was really disappointed because I installed the Hauppauge drivers, then WinTV, but it could not find any channels using 'scan'. I installed GBPVR and right away I could view live tv! (I stumbled through the setup a first since the website was down earlier this week and have corrected the configuration following the wiki since then).

My question: I cannot record anything, or pause/record live tv. I have tried Manual recording, TV Guide recording, live tv pause, to no avail. GBPVR creates a folder for the show I try to record (i.e. Jurassic Park) but there is no file in it! GBPVR recognizes that I'm trying to record because it shows "pending" recordings, and won't let me view another station while it is recording a show - but nothing gets recorded.

I have tried turning off "live preview" but that didn't work. I tried changing recordings directories. I'm using Schedules Direct (trial) for my EPG. I have searched the forums and wiki but found nothing that would help. I have struggled with this for the last 3 days and I'm almost ready to give up - any ideas/configs to try is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Try running ReRegisterFilters.bat.

Sub,

I recently started having the same problem - the folder gets created but there is no recording. I ran the ReRegisterFileters.bat but it did not help. If you get a chance, could you take a look at the attached logs and see if you notice anything? The logs should show that I tried to do a quick record.

By the looks of it, you have your capture source setup to use a device called "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 10117487-0" but there is no [Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 10117487-0] section in the bda.ini file.

That worked! But...
1) What causes this problem initially? (when will I have to run this bat file again?)
2) Why does my pre-programmed recording stop if I watch Live TV? Which config options affect this?

Thanks,
Greg

Not sure what happened to my entries, but I put them back in and now I get two recordings that are only 4k in size. I have attached another copy of my logs.

For whatever reason you device is failing to start. Its not clear why. Maybe its in use by some other software, or BDA drivers arent in a functioning state?

Thanks Sub. I should know better than to think I had a problem with GbPVR! Once I got it setup correctly, it's been running flawlessly. I took a look at my HDHomeRun (it's in the basement) and it appears that it has died. Next time I will check my hardware first.
