Ok I looked in the other threads for ''no picture'' and seems to be mux and mpg problems, so i checked with mux checker, says i have the cyberlink one, i checked with decchk, says i have 4 mpg ones, i selcted the nero one, i re-ran gpvr config and set that also to nero.

I still have no picture in live tv, i did a test recording and played it back, no picture. if i play the recording back in vlc, i have picture...

logs attached.

I'm not 100% sure, but looking at your logs its failing to create a temp .mpg file.
make sure the recording service can write to C:\Temp and see if that works for you.

What video/audio decoders do you have selected on the playback tab? Dont leave them on 'system default'

Emm, i didint notice that, but its in conversion of the recoded file to xvid or whatever, so would not expect it to stop display of the image when on live tv.

nero is crap in gbpvr
when using ffdshow open ffdshow's config go to codecs> mpeg decoder and make sure its not set to disabled
you should get the ffdshow icon in task bar when it works correctly

ac3 filter seems to work well with ffdshow decoder
ive been a bit anti decoder packs but the klite decoder pack seems to be pretty good cause it comes with the tool to enable and disable decoders etc
klcodec395f is the name of the one i used

Thanks for the heads up on that, i was going round in circles so decided to re download ffdshow and .net etc, seems reinstalling ffdshow fixed it, so i'm a happy bunny again.

now i just need to sort the conversion to xvid/divx etc to save space

I notice in the config program it says the cyberlink or ati muxer is required, mux check says i have the cyberlink, as so

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: PP MPEG Muxer (aka, CyberLink MPEG Muxer)
FILE: c:\windows\mux.ax
VERSION: 5.0.3608

But in the logs it says failed looking for it, could that be it?
do i need to change it to a different one?

Could it be because of where i have the file or its filename?

FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: CyberLink MPEG Muxer

or is this anything?

m_pD3DDev->Present() failed

i would try a different one
you will need to deregister that one maybe as it just uses the first one it finds
theres a mux list on the forum if you do a search
