Whenever I try to scan for QAM channels in the Digital Channel Mapping, the application Config.exe hangs. The Event Viewer states:

Hanging application Config.exe, version 1.0.2743.37641, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

When I re-open the screen and click on the available channels found in, "channels found during scan:" it often hangs too. I do receive video in the preview window and I am able to map the channels in the "Tuning Requests", but they do not work in the EPG, but WILL work with the Hauppauge remote(e.g., clicking the number 7 on the remote).

QAM channels work fine in WinTV 6 and I have tried the various patches and edits mentioned in previous posts.

I have attached my logs.

Sorry I'm not really sure what to suggest. There is no sign of any errors in the logs.

Do you have any suggestions on how to narrow the problem down?

To be honest, nothing springs to mind - though that could be weeks of no sleep talking.

I appreciate all your help. I think you do a marvelous job here in the Forums and I am extremely pleased with your app. I'm new to your product but if there is any assistance I can lend to help others with a HVR-1600, please feel free to ask.

I used to be able to watch the digital OTA channels, but as of last week when I change channel to a digital OTA channel I only get audio. When I do a digital scan in config (which used to work), it now locks up config app. Any ideas? What log files do you need?

Was able to scan, but still no video. The 2nd item I selected in the scan box hung config app.

For MPEG-2 Playback, I have nVidia Video Decoder for video, and nVidia Audio Decoder for audio. Turned off HW Acceleration for video decoder, and now I get video and audio for OTA digital channels. It all used to work and I didn't change settings, so not sure how that happened.

Any suggestions on what audio and video decoders I should use for best performance? I have an ATI Radeon HD2600XT video card, and would like to use HD acceleration. If the only answer is trial and error, then any suggestions on where to start? I just tried using ffdshow for video playback and ac3filter for audio, and it had a slight delay ~5 seconds, whereras ffdshow for both video and audio had no delay. Are there some filters I should stay away from? Forgive me if this is all discussed in another thread already.

Uninstalled nVideo Decoder, switched Video Decoder to ffdshow, and got audio but no video. I looked at version info for ffdshow that I had installed, and it said June 2007. Went and grabbed July 5, 2008 version from ffdshow.info, associated video with all formats, and now I get audio and video for cable and OTA digital. Decoder fun!
