stangdaman Wrote:Ok so I have another question about this. I checked the card in wintv first and it was picking up the digital stations. Then I added the digital stations to GBPVR and it mapped them fine and found all the same ones that wintv found however when I attempt to play them in GBPVR I get audio but no video. Any ideas?
I can only guess its something to do with the video decoder you're trying to use.

When you're setting up your EPG Source, you can specify the username followed by a semi-colon, followed by the lineup code (which can be seen in the URL on the Schedules Direct edit lineup page).

Oh thanks that'll help a lot. By the way in regard to epg lineups. I've noticed that every time I close and reopen PVRX2 it's having to reload the guide all over again. I'm not really used to this as I've been using the MCE2XML plugin which never used to do that. Is that normal for using schedules direct or is there something that I need to fix with that. It can be a little annoying since it really ups the CPU load when it's doing that. Normally before the epg was just always there if it had been loaded in the config utility.

I noticed that scedules direct has an option to allow you to get the data in xml format. Would that eliminate this problem?

The app doesnt reload the database from schedules direct each time you start PVRX2. The app does load the listings from its database each time it starts though (to populate the TV Guide), but it does this regardless of what EPG source you use, and would have done it in the past when you were MCE2XML aswell.

What exactly are you noticing that is bothering you?

Maybe I've just been missing it but always before if I ran an epg update in the configuration app. it was already populated when I opened PVRX2. Now every time things start back up again it's repopulating it all over again. It maxes out my processor while doing this which means I have to sit and wait really before I can check anything. It's begun doing it without closing PVRX2 as well. Yesterday I left and came back a couple hours later and the data was gone and it was filling the guide all over again. Like I said maybe I just never noticed it doing this before but I don't ever remember it doing that.

Its not repopulating. The EPG is still only occuring when you hit the 'Update EPG' button in the config app, or settings screen, or when the automated EPG time happens.

As I said though, the application does load the listings from the database when the application starts so that it has listings to show in the TV Guide (and every couple of hours after). You would have always had this happening. If you're noticing it now, but didnt in the past, then its probably because you've got more listings now than you did previously, causing it to take longer to load them. To reduce the number of listings you have, try setting the number of days to like 4 instead of 14, or look at removing channels you dont actually watch.

This background loading of listings is quick, but does get exponentially longer with more channels and more days. 7 days of listings for my 40ish channels loads instantly here (9800 listings). 14 days of listings for 300 channels would take substantially longer (147000 listings). Fast disks, CPU and available memory also have a big say on how quickly this happens.

Ok I try and reduce both the days and channels. There are a lot of channels it's loading information for that I don't even use.
