I can play this on the Popcorn hour, but have to choose the second (reported as DTS) soundtrack to get sound.

Is there an equivalent key in gbpvr for changing audio track?

Sounds like the same issue I was about to post a question for, you beat me to it. LiveTV is in beautiful surround sound Dolby Digital AC3 however recodings playback as aac 2ch audio. Mediainfo reports two streams in the TS aac and ac3. How can we select the second stream on playback???

Cheers

There currently is no key for toggling between the audio tracks when you play them on the PC, but its supposed to prefer AC3 over AAC. I'll try it a little later this morning.

Yes I noticed that the second channel comes up as DTS on the PCH but is clearly DD. Strange....

Do you actually get all 5 channels? My Logitech decoder confirms Dolby Digital 5.1 but I'm only getting left and right front speakers with audio signal. I'm not sure if its my decoder or a problem with the actual transmission.

I don't know about PC playback but on the PCH TV3 recorded shows have 5.1 sound and it's clear that it's 5.1. While there isn't always lots of surround sound, you can easily tell if the dialogue is coming from the centre channel. For stereo you would only get dialogue mixed between the left and right channels and a phantom centre.

Yeah, a lot of the programs are still supplied as DD 2.0, but most of the true "HD" shows seems to have been moved to 5.1 surround.
The missus was watching americas top model last night, and the sound did not have any centre sound at all, sounded the same if I switched from stereo to Dolby Digital.

Apparently if you use one of the TS remux tools it correctly displays the audio on the PCH as DD. (search for TSfor NeworkPlayer (TS4NP). It's mentioned on the user generated apps portion of the Network media tank forums)

TV3 is now advertising both a show in HD and 5.1 sound. That would give you a strong clue :-)

I get something similar... Live TV on 3 is surround sound Dolby Digital AC3 (5.1), while any recorded shows on 3 only playback in stereo.
