What I have:

amd 4800+
2gig Ram (512 shared with graphics)
xFx mobo with onboard nvidia 8200 grahpics
Hauppauge nova s +
Hauppauge 500mce
Vista 32 Business

So far I have tried many of the hints and tips I can find around the forums but I am still having lots of issues.

I am trying to EVR and Hardware acceleration working, but i can't tell if HA is working my cpu usage jumps up and down and corresponds with stuttering in the live tv.

I have tried numerous codecs, muxes etc to the point where it is probably now a huge mess. Is there someway i can remove all the extra stuff and start again without a rebuild?

The menus on the community skin are also very choppy and unfortunately detracts from the whole experience, oh why did i upgrade?

I get what looks like lots of dropped frames and the audio drops out withit, and while the pc gets a vista experince score of 2.0 the box claims ha and blue ray playback etc etc. I can hybrid sli the mobo but as it is new i haven't got the money and would like to give this a chance.

any ideas where i can go from here?

You need to make sure you are using a decoder that supports DXVA2 like the latest Arcsoft and Cyberlink decoders. I believe the latest FFDShow decoders also support it.

Well installed the k-lite codec pack 4.00 which includes the cyberlink, now i have good analogue but crap satelite still, I might have to look more into the mux, have tried both cyberlink and the microsoft with no good results so far, I also think my audio codec is an issue as well ... the search for perfection continues

Still no dice with satelite, i tried going back to vmr9 and had cpu usage of 13-53% with evr it is more like 2-30%, the playback jumps around and I am not yet even trying full screen, running 1360xwhatever it is.

Is there some way i can remove all codecs and start from scratch?

Can I see what is actually being used?

the mux I am using is (from mux checker

There is no foolproof method, other than reinstalling windows. You can try uninstalling the apps that installed the various decoders, but sometimes that just causes more unexpected problems. Best to not install too many decoders in the first place Smile

This specific version is known to have several problems, so maybe worth trying a different one. I use v5.0.0.1307.

A rebuild might be the plan at the weekend, also it looks like the onboard 8200 just doesn't have the guts, all the menus are slow and choppy as well, a little on the disappointing side but we live and learn

Rebuilt,

Only installed the klite codec pack and most things are working. Sat tv at about 10-15%, hd stuff is still very high but from a thread i read on nvidia forums you need a phenom cpu with its higher cache etc to be able to run hardware acceleration on a motherboard with incorporated graphics. If I had know this I could have spend the money on a graphics card instead.

I am currently trying to find out if using hybrid sli with a 8500gt would overcome this limitation as they are half the price of a phenom 8650
