Hi,

I have recently installed the latest version of GBPVR. It works great except for the fact that I can't play DVD through the DVD-ROM.
I have powerdvd 8 installed and DVDs play fine through it and windows media player. Through GBPVR i get a black screen.
I tried using both cyberlink and default dvd decoder with the same results.
Those are the only two I have and I'll be happy to hear suggestions for another one if someone thinks it'll fix the problem.
Thanks!

I had a similar problem a few months ago after installing a new version of my Nvidia drivers. Intervideo was the only decoder that worked at that point - since it worked I didn't worry about why the others didn't anymore.

Recently a corruption error forced me to reinstall Windows and with the same drivers, I don't have the problem anymore.

Not sure this helps any - since I'm not sure what the actual problem is. Why don't you try to play a dvd and then upload your logs. That will probably be the first request of anyone that can help you with more technical knowledge.

Logs...right I keep forgetting about them. Should take a look at them myself tooSmile
I don't have intervideo as DVD decoder option, only as MPEG-2 option (and that's the one i used for as long as i had gbpvr)

So here they are, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

First thing I'd try is setting the audio renderer back to 'system default', and pick another audio decoder - the "NonCSS" part of the name says it definitely wont with DVDs (which use CSS encryption)

Yes that was the case....It wasn't the video decoder it was the audio decoder.
This completely beyond why won't picture show up if audio decoder is having problem so if someone can take a second to explain this I'd be very grateful.
Thank you

The audio renderer, in addition to producing the sound that is sent to the speakers, provides the clock that is used by directshow to sync audio and video. Some audio renderer filters dont provide a good clock implementation, which can cause things to lock up and no data to flow.

I'd always recommend the user leave the audio renderer on 'system default' unless they have multiple sound cards in their machine, and are trying to force it to use a specifc one.
