I recently installed v1.2.13 am having a problem getting one channel (79). When I go to channel 79, it is almost like I am getting some other channel, but it is scrambled so I don't get a picture and very little sound. I ran the Tuning Assistant and it shows the channel just fine.

How can I get the channel numbers in the TV Guide? I set <TVGuideChannelHeaderType>2</TVGuideChannelHeaderType> in config.xml as suggested in the FAQ, but I still do not get the channel numbers.

When first going to Live TV or when pausing a channel for the first time, the screen goes black for about 5 seconds. It then works fine. If I exit Live TV, then go back into it, the channel comes up almost immediately. I do have Live Preview Mode checked in config.

I am using a pvr-150 on a 1.10GHz AMD Athlon XP machine with 512MB RAM.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

For 'number + name' I'm fairly sure thats supposed to be "1" not "2".

This is fairly normal. The first time you go to use it the Directshow libraries are loadad etc, which can take a few seconds.

Attached are the logs from where Live TV started at channel 8, I went to channel 79, which still had the problem, and then back to channel 8.

That worked, thanks.

Is it normal also when you pause for the first time on a channel when preview is turned on? Also, would having a faster machine cut down the delay?

According to the logs you went from 8 -> 80 ->8. Go into your capture source settings and view the number next to the channel name you think should be 79. I'm fairly sure it'll have 80 in it's place.

Yes, this is normal when you have live preview mode enabled. Live preview mode gives you the fastest possible channel change time, with the data coming out of the device being immediately decoder and sent to the screen, ie no buffering. When you press pause. It needs to stop live tv and reconfigure the recording side to buffer data to a file, and rebuild the playback graph to play that buffer file - this takes a few seconds.

You can get instant pause functionality by running with live preview mode turned off, but this will of course mean slower channel changes. The choice is yours. I really want to pause live tv, and prefer to be able to surf through channels quickly, so my preference is to use live preview mode.

That was it.

I have also had a problem that when watching live TV and bringing up the TV Guide at the same time, the picture gets choppy and the sound and video are not in sync.

Given your CPU specs, the machine is probably struggling to keep up. You could try the different renderer options, or look for a video decoder that uses less CPU, otherwise you might need newer hardware to solve it.
