Maybe your video card drivers dont fully support VMR9. It might be worth trying VMR7 and Overlay.
Ignoring LiveTV, does playback of existing mpg files work?

actually trying the othe options gives the same error!!! so it seems to ignore that! But playback works fine though. except that the config doesnt remeber the folder i specyfied??? kinda weird huh?

Is there a growing livetv-x.mpg file in your recordings directory?

just made it work somehow.....think it had a prob with another previous installed app. But now i only have snow on the channels....is there a way to tune the channel by myself???

Are you using WinTVCap or Direct Recording? WinTVCap has settings in its ini file for controlling the tuning.
Direct Recording has settings for the tuning type cable/antenna and the country. The channels are tuned using predefined tables which are specific to each country. More info can be found here http://msdn.microsoft.com/library....ng.asp Which country are you in?

using directrecord, and im in denmark.....

Tuning should work. Its the same for every country around the world, just the frequencies vary. I guessing Denmark uses the western europe table, http://msdn.microsoft.com/library....ope.asp .
