...or something like that. Every time after I have scheduled a TV recording I get this message (twice) when activating my media center from standby with the remote. PVRx2 will then crash.
This bug is the only thing keeping me from switching from Mediaportal to GB-PVR. I believe I read some posts before but can't seem to find them anymore.
Is there a solution to this problem or do I wait for the next release?

Try changing this from true, to false in your config.xml

<RestartAfterPowerup>false</RestartAfterPowerup>

"Change this from true, to false in your config.xml

<RestartAfterPowerup>false</RestartAfterPowerup>"

In my case this helped, I have never seen the vmr9 renderer message again.

Sorry, this doesn't seem to work. Still this message after wake up from standby after a recording:

"This system doesn't support the required vmr9 renderer"

and then you click on and you can then start pvrx2 without problem?

If so, this is not a gbpvr bug, it is just that the directx layer / graphics card has not woken up correctly before gbpvr calls it.

I have a script that does a number of things to maintain gbpvr including (attempting) to kill and restart pvrx2 if it finds it in this situation.

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...vr_monitor

If you can code, then you can figure out how to modify this script to meet your requirements.

Alternatively (and possibly easier), you could use gbpvrwake.exe (search forum/wiki) and then create a gbpvrwake.cmd file to kill and restart pvrx2 using pskill from http://www.sysinternals.com.

sorry - hacking suggestions only I'm afraid.

Thanks. I might give this a try, although I was hoping to switch to GB PVR to avoid just these kinds of workarounds...Smile

I've had a look at the script. It seems quite complicated and does a number of thinks I think I don't need (for instance I have an MCE remote, not Hauppauge). What part is important for my problem?
What kind of script is it anyway and how can I install it?

i would recommend that you:

download gbpvrwake.exe from the wiki and copy to gbpvr folder.
Add shortcut to gbpvrwake.exe to your startup folder so the program runs when you start the pc.

this program runs quietly in the background. When it detects that the pc has come out of standby, it runs wake.cmd.

download pskill.exe form here and copy into gbpvr folder or ideally windows\system32
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysin...96683.aspx

create a wake.cmd in the gbpvr folder that looks like this.
pskill pvrx2.exe
pvrx2.exe

I think that should work.
