I rip my dvd to iso removing the menus, subtitles and all but the 5.1 english audio. I not sure why you want it as an mpg when it would be the same size and content as an iso but as far as i know it would take longer to get there. I use the free version of dvdfab dycrypter and it takes less than 10min to rip to an iso.

Yes, you just have to have Daemon Tools installed and setup on the dvd tab in pvrx2 config.

i only want them as a mpeg because they will be playable by more things easier. since all i want is the full movie without the extra fluff, theres no point storing anything else. and as an iso i would have to mount it with daemon everytime i wanted to play it (and theres a very annoying bug in gbpvr that when you go to play an iso when a dvd is already in your dvd drive, it just plays the dvd and not the iso).

oh also, if the videos are just mpegs and not iso, i can play them back to back, which would be handy for tv shows ( i always put the tv on when going to bed, and if im still awake when a episode ends i have to manual start the next one - very annoying when ur almost asleep Smile )

I think you can use VLC, but I've never been completely successful. Also, doesn't mplayer do a stream dump as well?

You should be able to to rip to vob files then use something like VOB2MPG and convert to an mpeg.

You only need to rename the vob to mpg

doing a quick google, vob is a different file type

http://www.infocellar.com/DVD/fastest-vob-to-mpeg2.htm

so looks like videoredo will do a quick convert from vob to mpeg2.

so now i just need a quick (hopefully 1 click) util to rip the vobs (if a movie is split across multiple vobs, i need somethign to combine them).
