The stop button on my MCE remote works fine with MPEG file playback but for AVI file playback the stop button causes the screen to go black with no audio and my HTPC no longer responds (freezes).
.

HTPC Server: AMD Athlon XP 3200+, 768Mb RAM, Gigabyte 6200 AGP, Hauppauge 500MCE Capture Tuner, WinXP Pro SP3 (concurrent users), NPVR 2.5.9

when you say "no longer responds" do you mean the pc has completely hung and won't respond to the mouse or keyboard (does caps lock light still work?) or that it just won't respond to the remote control?

If the former, you have some kind of weird hardware/driver problem but if it is the later , I would suspect the divx tray tool is stealing focus from gbpvr

Reproduce the problem, then zip/attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

When it goes black it no longer responds to the remote but the keyboard and mouse still work.

Sorry, you'll need to reset your logging level back to 'debug', then reproduce and repost the logs.

Sorry, but can you try again. There is no attempt to play any file shown in those logs.

OK logs attached again. I noticed this problem doesn't seem to happen with the smaller sample size avi files, just the full show larger avi files.

Can you check if the same thing happens with the VMR9 or EVR renderers?

I can only do VMR9 on my HTPC (not enough cpu/gpu power for EVR), but the stop button seems to work fine for both large and small AVI with VMR. I have been using Overlay to minimize system resources and hence micro stuttering during playback.
