So, now that the initial growing pains are (hopefully) over, we're looking at one of these units here.

Are they still limited to two channel audio? Or did the June drivers take it up to 5.1 ?

Any other warnings / suggestions for setting one up?

The HD PVR is available here in Canad for $219 with $5 shipping right now so I was wondering are most of you early adopters happy with your purchase? Did the hardware mods fix it so that you would recommend it?

I was waiting for the real audio drivers but this sale price is very enticing.

I have one of the early ones, I think from the second batch that was shipped. It has worked perfectly from the start. I've recorded hundreds of programs with it without a hitch. I'm very satisfied with it.

To put it in perspective, my usage is to record programs and watch them at a later time and then delete them. I don't save to DVD or do anything else fancy with them and I really don't care about 5.1 audio.

Can you use one of these with a usb extension cable?

What do i need to set to get the built in ir blaster working. I have it set up correctly in blastcfg. but i cant get GB-PVR to even try to make it change channels

You need to set your capture source to use the '.exe channel changer' and point it at c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\haupblast.exe.

Can you guys tell me what your settings for advanced codec and mpeg 2 playback are in config?
and when looking at the gui menu, should the settings entry actually take you into a settings screen. i just keep getting sent back to the main menu.

You should be fine with the Arcsoft H.264 decoder and Arcsoft AAC decoder.

This is a bug in the current release. Create an empty 'skin' subdirectory in the gbpvr directory and it'll start working. You're not missing much though - there isnt much in that screen.
