Hauppauge HD PVR and Time warner HD DVR HELP

Has anyone manage to get this to work? My time warner HD DVR is a Scientific-Atlanta explorer 8300HD. I have a HDMI cable going from the time warner box to my HD TV. So i'm using the component out from the Time warner box to the Hauppauge HD PVR. But when I start the HD PVR i get no picture it's all dark and grey, i don't get any channel information.

Do you know if your set top box will output component and HDMI at the same time? Some wont output over component if HDMI is connected.

Have you tried in the Arcsoft TME app that came with your HDPVR?

Not yet, what does the Acrsoft TME app do?

I called TIme warner and they aren't being very helpful with telling me if the box can output component and HDMI at the same time.

So I'm at a loss of what to do

Try the TME software. Its a application for capturing videos from the HD-PVR. It'll tell us if its a GB-PVR setup problem, or something else.

Oh yeah I did use the totalmedia extreme app. it shows up as grey/black

that's why i'm worried, it's like when you have the tv on but there's no picture. It's like this dark grey/fade black. There is no channel info and I can not even set the

in format settings I get a "source not locked"

I'd temporarily unplug the HDMI from the set top box, try component to the TV to confirm its outputting something, then (with HDMI still disconnected from set top box) try connecting to the HV PVR.

I tried it, I removed the hdmi and plugged the component cables in I get reception on the TV . Now with the HDMI still out and I remove the compnonent from the tv and plug it into the HD PVR. I start the TME app and it's completely black. nothing
