Hauppauge hvr 850

Hello,

I have a HAUPPAUGE HVR 850. GBPVR is not recognizing it. I thought I read somewhere that it was a similar configuration as the PINNACLE stick. Can anyone provide any more details?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of it. Run the filtercheck.exe utility, then zip and attach the filtercheck.log and I'll take a look.

You should be able to get the digital side of the device going by adding the following to bda.ini file, then setting up a digital capture source.

The analog side of the device isnt compatible with GB-PVR since it lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

I put the entry in, added the capture device, restarted recording service but when I go into live tv it just blinks.

WHen you setup your capture source, you need to hit the 'map digital channels to epg channels' to get it to scan for channels otherwise you wont be able to start live tv.

Ok everything is working now. Can you tell me though why the video is choppy and the audio only has the background music of shows but not the actual voices.

It'll most likely be related to the combination of audio/video decoders you're using. Try other decoders. (or possibly your machine if its underpowered)
