It scans the channels and finds them.
I am using vbox 3560 and the latest version of gbpvr

But all I see is a black screen and hear the audio

I installed codecs from this site.
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm

I dont see video in the auto scan list but only hear sound there as well.

Its most likely to do with the video decoder you're using. Try selecting a different one on the playback tab.

I think I tried everyone of them

what I am looking at is the gbpvr configuration, playback tab

there is the 'renderer' and then there is the mpeg2 - playback and then the advanced codec

which one should i switch?

I got it working with the dscaler mpeg1-2 codec!

there are like 4 listed in the codec section.
default
dscaler mpeg2 video decoder
gpl mpeg1/2 decoder
ffdshow video decoder
MPEG video decoder

but only dscaler works, why is that?

Probably a variety of reasons. The ffdshow video decoder often needs the user to PVXR2.exe to the list of applications it'll work with (ffdshow setting). I think the gpl mpeg1/2 decoder is standard definition, etc...

There is no "best decoder", they work differently on different machines. Just use whatever works well for you.
