I've the system described in my sig - stable, solid works perfectly with the Hauppauge/MCE remote that came with the PVR150.

But every learning remote I try to use as a universal device doesn't learn the PVR150 codes too well. Essentially, the learning remote learns codes perfectly from every other device in the setup except the Hauppauge codes - kind of. Press (eg) UP and UP is transmitted. Press UP again and nothing happens. You have to press a different button (eg LEFT) for UP to work again - and so on.

Any thoughts on a fix, please? Thanks in advance.

(Incidentally, I'm a big advocate of keeping it simple, so my PVR runs the minimal software possible to get everything working well; I did try HIP in the early setup stages but found it more trouble than it was worth. I want to watch telly, not learn a new programming language!).

Its related to a toggle bit being used by the real remote, which isnt able to be reproduced correctly by your learning remote. There is a work around though: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mbo...dows|Media

Thanks sub. Have made the registry alteration - now just waiting for an opportune moment to reboot - will report back.

Many thanks sub: that fixed it! We're now down to ONE remote for everything. Domestic harmony reigns....
