Had a Nova-T working perfect with GBPVVR & XP on my old computer. Recently bought a new Vista x64 machine and i am having issue's setting up GBPVR with my Nova card.

I lost the supplied CD that came with the card, so i downloaded the cd from the Hauppauge website. Under device manager, instead of being listed as a Nova-T 500 as on my old XP machine, the card is listed as a Nova-DT IR.

When trying to setup GBPVR, when adding the source there is no option for BDA, just the digital record and 2 analog options. From memory im sure i had setup with the BDA option on my XP machine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You choose 'digital recorder plugin' and then tick the 'only show devices detected on this machine'
I think device names sometimes change between different driver versions.

I'm guessing thats just the driver for the remote control.

Are you sure the drivers are installed correctly? Maybe try in the Hauppauge WinTV software?

Sound, Video & game controllers:- Hauppauge-DT Dual DVB-T Tuner Device (+IR)

Many thanks for the replys. I uninstalled the card through device manager, re-started and installed the drivers from the Hauppuage website rather than letting windows install the drivers. In device manager it shows the same as Martins now.

However i have added the capture source, and tried mapping the channels, but am getting 0 & 0 for strength and quality. On my old machine i was getting 100 & 85. My brothers freeview is working perfect ( all from same aerial ). Have checked cable and connector and all is good.

Any idea's?

I usually recommend this tool - http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=12082

It works at the low-level BDA interface and is about the simplest minimal test of DVB-T devices. Needs no installing, just run from directory. Just pick option one in teh first instance.

Tried the above tool - Nothing found. Maybe this is a hrdware problem? The device is found by GBPVR, i know the signal is good, i cant think of anything else other than a faulty card.

If it runs and sees the two tuners then I'd say the driver was loaded ok.
If it sees no signal then I'd say the aerial/coax or tuner was duff.

Did you try both tuners? ISTR there was some instances of one tuner going deaf.
Do you still have your old machine to try it in?

Finally got it to start mapping channels. Fitted an Attenator (Sp.) which basically limits the strength of the signal. The card must be a bit sensitive. However it only gets to 5 out of 7 on the mapping beforei get a .NET Framework error. Have updated to the latest .NET and tried re-installing GBPVR. I am at a loss as to how to rectify this. An older .NET?
