Vista Install Problems

I have just formatted my computer after a virus attack. I have reinstalled my Vista operating sytem. I can't get GBPVR to install and register all the filters. I thought I read about this being an Administrator issue but haven't had any success getting this corrected.

after the install you need to open a dos prompt as an administrator and then run the command to re-register the filters
regsvr ..... um I will try to find the rest. This was about the only issue I had with a vista install.

There is a Re-RegisterFilters.bat in the GBPVR program folder. You can right click it and select "Run as Administrator".

The install never complete's. The message and choices I get are as follows. ( Error 1904. Module C:\ProgramFiles\Devnz\GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register. HRESULT-2147010895. Contact your support personnel. ) the choices for me are abort, retry or ignore. If I hit retry it won't get past this point, if I hit ignore it will move to another module to install and so on. If I ignore all and continue installation the installation appears to complete but the application doesn't work and it still won't register all the filters as admin from the GBPVR folder by right clicking on re-registering filters bat.

It sounds like you forgot to install the required vcredist_x86.exe

I have installed vcredist_x86.exe. I had seen that in a previous thread. I am really stumped. I have had GBPVR installed before on my Vista operating system but do remember some difficulty getting it installed.
I just reinstalled vcredist_x86.exe and tried to install GBPVR and came up with the same result.

I ran into the same error in xp, and had installed the vcrdist. Found that after I did a windows update, it fixed itself.
Might try that.

Well I finally got a clean install. I read a post in the forums regarding a missing file that gets installed with a trial Cyberlink DVD program. After installing the Cyberlink program the GBPVR install went flawlessly.
