Hello all

I have a Nebula Electronics DVB-T cars and have just downloaded GB-PVR.

First things first, I have some DBA (or something similar) drivers for the card, what do I do with them? At the moment the setup cannot find my PCI cars so I am guessing that has something to do with those drivers?

Many thanks

Take a look at the section in the wiki about adding unsupported cards, at first glance it looks a bit daunting but it's a piece of cake if you follow the simple steps.

Then get back to the forum when you hit the next problemWink

If you run filtercheck.exe (located in the GBPVR install folder), you can zip and post the resulting filtercheck.log. Someone will help create the bda.ini entry needed for GBPVR to recognise your card.

Hi Peter,

Fancy meeting you here. Big Grin

Assuming you downloaded the BDA drivers from...

http://www.nebula-electronics.com/downlo...rivers.asp

You need to upgrade the existing WDM drivers as per the instructions on that page...
Quote:Installing the drivers

Extract the files in the downloaded Zip file into a temporary directory, and then use Windows Device Manager to replace the following drivers (found under the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' section)

'NebAudio, WDM Audio/MPEG2 Capture' should be replaced using the 'DigiTV_BDACapture.inf' installation file
'NebVideo, WDM Video Capture' should be replaced using the 'DigiTV_BDATuner.inf' installation file
To translate...

  1. Create a temporary folder and unzip the files.
  2. Open Device Manager.
  3. Expand the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section.
  4. Right-click on 'NebAudio, WDM Audio/MPEG2 Capture' and select Update Driver.
  5. Respond 'No' when asked if windows should search the Internet. Then select 'Install from a list...'. Then 'Don't search, I'll choose'.
  6. Select 'Have disk...' then browse to the temp folder where you extracted the files. Select 'DigiTV_BDACapture.inf'.
  7. Let the driver install and do the same for 'NebVideo, WDM Video Capture' but selecting 'DigiTV_BDATuner.inf' in the final stage.
NOTE: The above is an XP install procedure - wording may differ in Vista. Also, I don't know how to find Device Manager in Vista. In XP, I'd right-click 'My Computer' and select 'Manage' - the Device Manager should be listed there. Alternatively, try Control Panel.

Once you have the BDA drivers installed, GB-PVR should be able to see the Nebula card as either 'Nebula PCI BDA DVB-T' or 'Nebula PCI BDA DVB-T (1.02)'.

Cheers,
Brian

Thankfully, they kept this the same in Vista.

I right-click 'my computer' and select 'properties' - takes you directly to device manager Smile

Right, I think I did the installation of the drivers right and in the setup it can find my card. When I go to digital channel mapping however I get a message saying GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. At which point Microsoft .NET framework throws up an error at which point I have to quit.

I will check the files I installed as my control panel given them slightly different names.

You should find log files at or about ...

C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\logs

The config program creates logs with names beginning config.

If the content of the logs means as much to you as it does to me (i.e. not a lot), then post the logs and a wise man or several will respond wisely.

there are 26 of them..!

Anyone more important than the others?

-----Edit

Its found my card and got a load of channels but not all. Also some of them have (Audio 2) on them with no sound.

also, is there a channel list i can use to change channels insted of cycling through? (going to the Wiki now)
