i tried multi-record on ATSC 56.1,2,3 and 7.1,2,3 and every time it starts using the second tuner. when i'm trying to record the third subchannel i get the error with no tuners available. i did select the TS mux and multi-record box. i get the ts files in the directory and can play them back just fine in my avi player but the playback in the pvrx2 interface fails (either crashes or blinks for a second and returns to the playback menu as before selecting the play option). using GBPVR 1.3.7.

any hints appreciated...

Schedule two recordings on the same frequency and post the full set of logs.

ok here's a new set. 7.1 & 7.2 - same frequency (41 UHF). here's what i saw in the pvrx2.exe.log. i must mention this recording was set up while the program was already on.

Quote:2008-11-16 10:41:34.796 VERBOSE [1] new recording requires: 41,7,2
2008-11-16 10:41:34.796 VERBOSE [1] existing recording is on: 41,7,1
2008-11-16 10:41:34.796 VERBOSE [1] multi-record not possible

i wonder if pvrx2 has an issue when scheduling a recording already in progress but if i schedule it in the future the recording service would treat it correctly.

pvruser,

Very few of the ATSC channels are on the same frequency. I doubt that 56 and 7 are on the same one, since they are not here. About the only ones that seem to be sharing around here are some of the odd UFH channels with local broadcasts. You should be able to record all the sub-channels of a channel on one tuner, but that is rarely useful. I think this is why Sub said that this feature is not particularly useful to ATSC users, even though it does work.

well i tried to schedule a double sub-channel recording in the future and it had the same issue - 2 tuners in the pvrx2.exe.log.

Quote:2008-11-16 10:53:26.390 VERBOSE [1] Checking if multi-record possible on capture source...
2008-11-16 10:53:26.390 VERBOSE [1] new recording requires: 43,56,2
2008-11-16 10:53:26.390 VERBOSE [1] existing recording is on: 43,56,3
2008-11-16 10:53:26.390 VERBOSE [1] multi-record not possible
2008-11-16 10:53:26.390 VERBOSE [1] canRecord@exit (not possible)

this is 56.2 & 56.3 on 43 UHF. here's a new set of logs. maybe there's a bug? i installed over the old 1.2.7 version and didnt do anything special to it.

David just to clarify - i did NOT try to record on 56 and 7 at the same time.

i did a recording on 56.1 & 56.2 or 56.2 and 56.3 at the same time. then i stopped them because it obviously used 2 tuners and moved on to channel 7.1 and 7.2. this also used 2 tuners.

even so - if ATSC subchannel recording is possible with 2 tuners then i should be able to record at the same time 7.1 & 7.2 AND 56.1 & 56.2 & 56.3 because these are 2 separate frequencies with a few subchannels each.

once again i know the difference between virtual channels, frequency, ATSC and analog. this issue is regarding the sub-channels on the same frequency at the same time.

for me it would be quite useful because my ATSC sub channels are different - PBS on 56.1,2,3 are always different and interesting and 7.1,2,3 too.

so anybody has any ideas based on the logs i posted earlier?

thanks!!

Open Config and edit your tuning strings in your capture sources. Change all of the "T:x,x,x" portions to "T:x,0,0".

you are a genius! it works - i see both recordings on the same tuner (comma separated).

is this a bug with all ATSC channels even on a new install or just an issue with those upgrading from an older version?

thanks!

ok now the problem that remains is that the recordings wont play back in the interface... it just blinks and returns to the list. files have a "ts" extension but open fine with my player.

any ideas?
