So I received my hvr-2250 and installed it using the new drivers from the hauppage web site....wintv will scan for qam channels and finds a few, most encrypted, but 5 unencrypted and wintv will play them in a full window.

Within GBPVR I set up a digital recording source and scanned for the qam channels and it found the same ones....I went to the "map digital channels to the epg screen" and was able to see the channels in the preview window, I mapped the channels that I could see to their respective channels and clicked OK to everything.

When I start GBPVR and go to tv guide and select any of the qam channels, I get a black screen, no video or audio. The analog cable channels and the analog satallite channels I have set up work good. Just to clarify, I have the qam channels dedicated to the digital source and not to an analog source.

Since I can see the qam channels in the preview window, and I mapped them to their respective channel, why can't I see them in the live tv window?

Any help appreacieted
Todd

Probably related to the audio/video decoders you are using. Try to view one of the channels and then zip and post your pvrx2*.log files.

I also often have difficulty watching live TV on my 2250. I feel like a good set of decoders for recording isn't always the same ones that are good for watching live TV. Sometimes PVRx2 freezes on me when I watch live TV. Analog watching works better for me too. I haven't really worried about it much because I have too many other things to work out, and I don't have much interest in watching live via the 2250.

Are you waiting long enough?

My HVR-1600 takes a little bit when I got from analog to digital. All my digital channels are at the high end so switching from my last analog to the first digital takes a bit, but switching to another digital then goes much faster. Switching back to an analog from a digital takes a little bit too.

A seperate question, are you using live preview or timeshifted tv?
