Hi,
I am new to gbpvr. Downloaded it last night and got things to work although I did have some problems with zap2it and had some questions.

1. Are there gbpvr log files I should be looking at that might help me debug things and if so where are they located?

2. I had used zap2it with another PVR application but when trying that user/passwd with gbpvr it would take forever and eventually come back with some message about zap2it not being configured correctly. Since I couldnt find the logs I dont know any more information although I did do a test and only turned on one channel (my cable has probably 60 channels) and it would work then; turn on more channels and again not work. Any ideas?

I had previously run xmltv (again for a different application) and was able to load its guide xml into gbpvr fine but looks like it would be better to use the zap2it guide since does gbpvr automatically call up zap2it for updates whereas I couldnt see if it would for xmltv (would I need to batch that on my own?).

3. I also tried the web interface and that was cool. One thing I wish I had in these type of applications was the ability to search by genre (for me it would be movies) from the web interface (or the gui I suppose). TitanTV has a nice guide where you can only choose "movies" and then can fairly quickly scan thru them and program ones you want. Any idea if any plans to add this type of guide searching?

Just some questions from a new user. Just from my initial few hours gbpvr looks to be very nice. Just got to figure out the zap2it problems and try more things out.

PS. Does this forum have any capability for searching?

1/ and 2/ The log file in this case is c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\config.exe.log. Yes, zap2it is easier to use than xmltv. With xmltv, you'd have to find your own way automate getting the xmltv files onto your machine.

3/ GB-PVR wasn't designed specifically for USA. For the rest of the world I have no genre information on the programmes.

"search" link is in the top right. It can be hard to see. The Ikonboard board software seems to refuse to let me change this link color.

Thanks SUB for the replies.

I am not in front of my computer now but for my zap2it problem is there the chance the log shows details about what is happening during all that time it sits there before telling me it isnt configured properly; with one channel it works but few more channels it stops working. I will try some things out later tonight.

I cant believe I missed the search link but I suppose it was hard to see in that black area at top of the window; my bad.

Thanks again for the help and a great application.
