Getting the occasional what looks like a failure in the initial request to record - this creates a 0 byte files, but then a subsequent (automatic) recording starts with a -1.ts and seems to record.

But for some reason the DB doesn't seem to know about this second file.

Is there any check at the end of the recording request to say is there a .ts file? no, is there a -1.ts? no is there a -2.ts no then fail?

I think this applies to any recording type (analogue or digital). If the initial recording fails for some reason, another will be attempted but, no, the DB doesn't get updated to reflect the new (successful) filename.

One on sub's ToDo list which hasn't been fixed yet perhaps?

If you bump this thread when I'm back in NZ, then I'll find the cause and fix.

I too have this issue occasionally.

Have only just upgraded to GBPVR 1.3.7 so time will tell if still occurs.

Seems to happen more on the multidec side of things - if the decrypt key takes a while longer to kick in - meanwhile the recording might time out? If the key does then kick in - sometimes creates a new file, and the db pointer still points at the first file created.

Hi sub

wondering if you get a spare minute to look at this 0 byte issue I had it happen again, and I remembered to capture the logs for it.

The parental control recording done this morning had this happen (using mdapi)

Just for confirmation - I've seen this too with TS format and multirecord on DVB-S/MDAPI. I only ran this way for a day, and am now back to mpg.

I sometimes get it on my regular dvb-s recordings, but most often on the multidec stuff. I imagine it should be a quick patch to look for xxxxx.ts, nothing there, look for xxxxx-1.ts and update the db reference.

Can you give this a try? It does things slightly differently.
