using xp pro sp3 with the latest GB-PVR version
Using 2 analog cards -
1. pvr150 connected to STB via composite. this card is the main card, it is the top card in the capture card config menu.
2. Avermedia m785 connected with aeriel.

when watching live tv, the channels change flawlessly.
when setting to record a show, it would just start recording, without sending the right command to the STB.
I reproduced it and attached the logs.
thanks

What IR Blaster are you using? Some utilities used for controlling blasters use the clipboard to transfer data, so you have to change settings for the "GBPVR Recording Service" service to 'allow service to interact with desktop'.

Thanks for the quick reply

I'm using the mce ir kit. It's configured to work with HIP and hipsend as explained in the wiki.
channel changing of the STB works fine when watching live tv, the problem is just when recording.
It worked for me before (I don't remember with which version of GBPVR), it's a fresh install on a new installed hard drive

How do I change the settings for "GBPVR Recording Service" service to 'allow service to interact with desktop' ?

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, then view the properties of the 'GB-PVR Recording Service' service.

Thats all every other HIP user has had to do, so I'm sure it'll do it for you to. Maybe double check you've enabled the setting, then reboot. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas for you.

the check-box for 'allow service to interact with desktop' was indeed checked.
I moved the hipsend file to the GBPVR folder, and updated its new location in the config.
I do get channel changing now.
I don't know why it wouldn't work from its previous location, but as long as everything is working now, I'm happy.

I had the same problem. The box in SERVICES was checked. I copied HipSend.exe to the GBPVR folder but that didn't work after updating the location. I corrected this back to the HIP folder and after doing that, I was able to go back to SERVICES and see the unchecked box.

I'm having a similar issue, but I can't figure out why...

Channel changing with hip and an MCE remote works from the tv guide, or when entering live tv. When I schdule a recording, though, it omits the second digit. It worked several days in the beginning, and starting messing up shortly after I installed comcut.

This is from the gbpvr log:
2008-11-21 21:19:24.043 INFO [5] Found new programme requiring recording: Family Guy (64)
2008-11-21 21:19:24.074 VERBOSE [5] Changing to channel (GBPVR.Backend.Common.ExeChannelChanger): 139

2008-11-21 21:19:24.137 VERBOSE [5] start recording @1
If I use hipsend from the command line, everything always works fine. Any ideas?
