The logs do show it reading the file, and TS is a normal extension for GBPVR to play (as you'd expect, as it records to it)

Why don't you get graphedit, and try to insert the GBPVR TS reader into a graph. (Check that file exists in your gbpvr directory GBPVRTSreader.ax )

if i drag a ts file into graphedit it builds the graph and plays it. what do i need to link to GBPVRTSreader (i found it in the graphedit list) so that it plays it?

Insert the GBPVRTSreader and it will ask for you to open a file. (You may need to adjust the open box to show all files). Link it to "MPEG2 Demultiplexor". Output pins will then be created for AC3, AAC, Audio and Video that connect to your decoders. You can right click those pins and select "Render Pin"

no new pins are created by the "mpeg2 demultiplexer"...

is there a way to customize extensions and how they are associated by gbpvr?

Assuming you connected the demux, then it sounds like there is something in the stream GB-PVR doesnt like. When I'm back in NZ, I'll get you to supply a small sample file and I'll look into it.

i'm also getting the same problem (crashes of graphedit) if i connect the mainconcept mpeg demultiplexer. so either the generic one or the one that came with my tuner card ar both not working.

is there a way to find out what graph a third party application is using to decode a file? just curious if i can "drag" the graph from my external player vs the gbpvr one and check them out.

although as i said before - dragging the ts file over to graphedit plays it fine. so i'm suspecting that the GBPVRTSreader has some issue on my system - since it's causing the crash when i connect it to the demux.

Sorry, I'll have to look into it when I'm back. I dont really have the capabilities here.
