OK - I ran hcwclear.exe, removed everything, removed GBPVR, rebooted, installed the drivers (ONLY - no WinTV) off the latest download. Installed GBPVR, setting up capture sources. So far I have added two, named 2250HD-1 and 2250HD-2. The first source is set to Device Number 1, and the second set to Device Numver 2. On both the device type is HVR-2250(QAM). On both the Recording Source is Digital Recording Plugin. I pointed the XMLTV Plugin at my tvguide, and updated the EPG.

Am I set up OK so far? I have TWICE had the Recording Source to just change to BDA Recording Plugin for no reason I can find!

I am going to set up my analog devices now.

OK - now adding the analog sides. Both set up as Analog Recording Devices. One is capture device #1, the other is #2. Source is Internal tuner, Tuning is Cable. Did the same EPG thingy as I did with the digital sides.

I guess next it to check the analog tuning and make sure I can be tuned to 2 analog channels simultaneously (I should be able to do this, right??)

OK - first problem. If I record one analog channel, I can't watch another analog channel, says no tuners available.

What did I do wrong?

Zip and post all of your logs showing where you tried to record one analog program and watch another.

Also, ignore the "BDA Recording Source"/"Digital Recording Source" issue. They are the same thing and the label doesn't matter. Sub recently changed the labels and there may just be an old reference in the code but it has no effect on the operation of GBPVR.

Figured it out, Per your words - thanx! Was able to record one show and watch another. However, the tuner status popup did not change properly, still thought the other tuner was on a channel I had left a while ago - not sure how often that gets updated! Now, on to the digital divide!!

"Try editing the bda.ini file, and add the missing "SHARED_NAME=Hauppauge HVR2250" line so that you have this:

[Hauppauge HVR-2250 (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
SHARED_NAME=Hauppauge HVR2250
FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport "

Besides the 2250 I also have the PVR500 so I manually recorded 4 shows so to see if all 4 tuners would work. I get no error messages but when checking the recordings, the folder is created but no files are created the second 2250 analog tuner.
So, you're not alone. I'm still playing arond with it.

OK, adding that line still doesn't allow all 4 analog tuners to work at the same time. the 2250 Analog 2 shows it's recording, a folder is made but no file is present. My logs are here if you would kindly take a look.

Fagit abot it! :p I'm an idiot. Tonite I removed the tuners and added them back trying to get my schedules direct working. I thought I had made both tuners device #1 & #2 but both were showing 1. Already having a dual tuner, I know better.
