Hello,

First I have to say that GBPVR is excellent!!

However i've run into a problem that I haven't been able to solve.

I have the latest version of GBPVR, and had set it up with a Twinhan 102G, which scans quite a few channels without too much trouble and gets almost everything I am looking for.

Recently I wanted to go with dual tuners, so I went with two Nova-S-Plus DVB-S cards, no problems installing the drivers or getting GBPVR to detect dual cards.

After setting everything up in GBPVR The Nova-S-Plus cards just do not scan hardly anything compared to the Twinhan 102G. I made sure I have the most recent drivers, hec I even ran new cable today and I can either run from a DPQuad LMB, a DP34 setup to a dual DP lnb, or just to a pair of legacy lnb's with a disque switch(I have a receiver hooked up to each one so that I do not have to worry about having enough power to switch between sats).

I have also tried changing settings in the config.xml, nothing has helped.

I even kept a copy of the scan.cache files from the Twinhan 102G card, tried to use that with the Nova-S-Plus card(s) and I do not get a signal from any of the channels I map.

I have verified that both cards are working properly using DVBDream, and with that they pull every channel in, but I would really like to get these cards working better with GBPVR.

IF more info is needed, please let me know

Is there something else I need to do, or is it that there is not really any support for the Nova-S-Plus cards??

A few things I forgot to mention.

I have modified my sat ini files to account for the DP setup's.

I have also tried older drivers for the Nova-S-Plus cards

When I compare the *.cache files from the Twinhan to the Nova-S-Plus and find some of the same channels, they are on different transponders?

Well after messing around with the Nova-S-Plus tuners all weekend I went back to the Twinhan 102G, and it scanned most of the channels like it did before. I find it odd that the Nova-S-Plus does not get even half as many channels like the Twinhan does.

I kept one of the Nova-S-Plus cards in the system as well, which I have it running in DVBDream(ALL channels too).

i'm thinking that I am going to have to get another Twinhan card, hopefully one of the older ones like the 1020 I haven't seen any 102G's around.

I have a couple of Nova S+ cards. One suddenly refused to see certain satellite transponders (Astra 2 scan) whatever I do. It isn't the cable (tested it with a set-top box), it isn't the computer (if I swap in my other S+, no problems). When I put the demic S+ in my upstairs rig, it misses exactly the same muxes.

I have gone back to the 4.2 drivers (which people seem to think are the best), but random missing muxes does seem to be a problem with some S+s. I am thinking of asking Hauppauge to replace it, but I have lost the original packaging and it still half works.

Actually, I'm not doing so well at the moment- out of four DVB-S card I own, two Compro S350s have died on me (and one of those is a replacement itself!!) and one S+ half works. I am wondering whether the fact that they output 12v to the LNB causes them to be susceptable to electronic damage by shorts.

E-bay? I bought a 1020a for $46 with free shipping a few weeks ago. It was bad, but the seller replaced it without complaint or cost to me.

Hi,

Thank you for responding..

I have both cd's version 4.0A and 4.6A, I didn't even think about trying 4.2(which I am downloading now). Hopefully I will have a better result with this driver version. IF not I have a backup plan Smile

I actually found Twinhan 1020's on EBay pretty cheap, so I ordered one and if it's anything like the 102G we should be good to go either way. This has consumed quite a bit of my time

I would love to know why DVBDream works perfectly with the NovaS+, doesn't miss any channels...
