Does the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1950 Hybrid Video Recorder 1192 USB 2.0 Interface work with GBPVR fine?

Is it worth getting?
I like the
Hauppauge HD PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder 1212
but it doesnt look like it can really do SD.
Giving away this computer and making a new one and dont really have room for a tuner card, but still want to run a PVR.
So if anyone has any stories Smile feel free to share.

And to clarify, im curious if the 1212 can do SD,because id rather just get that, and swap my SD cable box extra for a HD extra, at no charge.

Yes, the HVR-1950 should work in GB-PVR.

The HD-PVR can do SD as well, but be aware that it produces files with H.264 video instead of MPEG2, which can be a hassle for some users.

Im assuming its a hassle because you have to convert it to mpeg2 before you can send it to your media box's around ones house?
So no streaming straight to the xbox360 into my tv.. hmm guess ill just get the 1950 , i dont really record any HD yet.(not that i can)

H.264 is much newer video compression standard, and is much harder on PCs to playback or watch live tv. Your video card would support hardware accelleration of MPEG2, but not H.264, so your machine might struggle to play it smoothly (instead depending on CPU grunt etc)

Waiting on stuff to arrive (holiday slowing things down)
Will post some pictures if i can of new setup incase anyone else decides to use the same thing.
Also it just came to me i might not need my USBUIRT anymore.

Your video card definitely doesnt do H.264 accelerated playback, so could have playback problems on 1080i H.264 video. Nvidia 8500/8600 or higher are needed if you want H.264 acceleration. H.264 uses a lot of CPU for playback - you might be ok, but I cant say for sure.
