I've just upgraded from 1.2.13(?) to 1.3.7, switched over to the TS Mux and tried out multiple recording from a single tuner and it works a treat - 1.3.7 is definitely more than a "Minor upgrade" for me! Unfortunately, though, the PVRX2 UI seems to get itself into a state after a few tens of seconds of inactivity where it runs at 100% CPU usage, which unfortunately causes my elderly AOpen Cube AV to get a little toasty warm and start whining about the fact! PVRX2 is running with the "Slick" skin (which does indeed have a very pretty Main Menu) with a photo set as the backdrop.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Its most likely related to the decoders you're using. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Surely the decoders only affect the CPU usage when something is actually playing?

I'm afraid I haven't had time to pull the log files off the box, but I did change the skin from "Slick" to "Blue", and found that I'm not getting the 100% CPU usage problem any more. Not sure if that points to an obvious cause, but if you think the log files would still help then I'll send them along...

I came onto the forum today looking for high CPU load posts; the above is what I am seeing here.

Also if you monitor your SMART settings, you'll see the drive all ramp up to high temps as well (? is that real, seems to be, box is hotter than usual).

Hello Sub;

Thank you for taking a look;

Here are logs, PVRX2 started up windowed for a short while, then minimized for a short while, then back in a window again. SpeedFan 4.3.7 showed CPU use go to 100% and my drives start to heat up one by one when the window was minimized.

I do not have an image loaded into the Slick backdrop yet.

I wasnt able to reproduce this. Did you need to do anything specific beforehand? ie, is just starting the app to the slick main menu, then minimising it enough to cause the high cpu? and does that high cpu start immediately after minimizing it? or after delay (how long)?

Starting the app into slick, or switching into slick from the PVRX2 settings will do it.

Anytime the slick setting is minimized CPU goes to 100% almost instantly. And it drops back to almost no CPU instantly when the window is restored again. perhaps a 1 second "lag" while it ramps up and down.

Did you have a pic loaded into slick?

This is an Asus K8Ne-DLX with a Geforce 4 MX440 /AGP8X if chipsets matter to you.

Does it do it if you dont change skins in the settings screen? ie, if you set the skin in the config app, then start the app, do you have the problem?

Yes, I tested that just now.
