If you want to watch recordign and not live TV, if your machine is powerful enough to transcode on the fly, the default conversion settings for ts files needs to be modified, because by default it just remuxes to mpeg-ps rather then transcoding to SD mp2 audio.

Could you make available a sample file for me to play with, please?

Frank, renaming an avi file as .ts should be good enough as a test, ffmpeg and mencoder usually card about the output format more than the input.

Fair enough. But don't I need to some how choose which channel of a multi channel stream?

a TS can have more than one channel right? and a PS basically is just the programme..

TS files created by GB-PVR will only have one channel.

Well to feed my hobby of supporting GB-PVR through apps and docs, I plunked down 125 CAD to get that 1600, to get 4 sports SD channels and 1 HD Channel.

I won't complain too loudly about spending money for things I won't personally use, just tol benefit others. I think there might be a few other people here who have spent far more supporting people on different continents...

And it's all fun!!

A year ago I wrote that I got 3 QAM SD channels, and after this past weekend it is down to one. I hear you about buying hardware to feed our hobbies, yesterday I bought a 15" tv/monitor because it has 720p hdmi with audio, component and svideo to make pch development easier in the computer room. $229 at CTC

Are you able to get OTA ATSC AND Clear QAM into one coax input?

Sorry NTSC tuner only, but the 3 OTA HD ATSC channels and 1 QAM I do display nicely from GBPVR. I forget it also has a VGA 1024x768 should I need it.

Might have crossed wires. Smile

I meant with your 1600 do you feed antenna ATSC AND Cable QAM into the one coax f connector? With a splitter or something?
