just to clarify: it does work fine when the remote is sending the key strokes "+" and "-" like the hauppauge remotes do.

If you get the volume OSD when you use the left/right keys on the keyboard, but not when you use the MCE remote, then it most likely means the MCE remote is directly changing the Windows volume itself, bypassing GB-PVR (which isnt aware of it happening so doesnt display anything).

This is the issue I have. However, nothing has changed in my setup except I'm now running Vista32 instead of XP+SP2.

I'm not sure if there is anything you could do to stop Windows from handling the volume itself. Have you tried setting the volume control on the misc tab to 'None'? If you're lucky this might show the OSD changes being done outside of GB-PVR.

sub, it's only displaying it for Left/Right and not CTRL+X/Y. Are these mappings no longer valid (they have no effect in GBPVR)?

I think that is out of date. The keys that should change the volume, and trigger the OSD are either left/right (for compatibility with the 34 button Hauppauge remote) or +/- on the numeric keypad (for all other remotes).

If the notifications for the MCE remote volume keys make it as far as GB-PVR, it generates +/- keystrokes.

Ah, I have an iMon so I can map it to specific applications. That would be why it wasn't working for me. Mapping to +/- fixed it.
