Code:
<MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -b 2400k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -ab 128 -r 29.97 -s 352x240 -f svcd "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>

You won't have livetv but recordings should be the same quality as xvid transcodes.

PAL users could try changing -r 25 and -s 352x288

Of course this is a good jumping point, and obvious. My problem is that this isn't all that consistent for all of my different ts sample files...

There's another thread where guys are having trouble with either manual or automatic transcoding from ts to mpg. So I'm looking for this at the same time.

I'm actually close. Now it's a matter of finding time this time of year. Funny how Christmas is taking priority. I just don't get that...

I have TS working great in ZProcess. One thing for certain, you can't use the default ffmpeg that comes with GB-PVR. I'm sure there are many versions that will work, but I will be suggesting using the ffmpeg-alt.exe tat I have on my wiki page...

Currently I have real time, transcoding for MVP viewing. The transcode to other formats (like AVI) will work either manually or automatically.

It's a matter of writing out the instructions (or make damn sure it's plug and play) I need another day or two...

Looking for a couple of brave souls that might want to try early

Hi Zehd... I'm certainly interested in being an early adopter... think I can grab some time over the holidays. Might be the acid test for you however... I'm pretty ignorant on transcoding, etc. so if your instructions work for me they will probably work for everyone :-)

Great. Grab the latest from this thread:

I would read the ZProcess wiki page, at least the beginning, to give you an idea of what to expect.

Remember, an MVP can't play non mpegs. It needs a transcoder to turn non-mpgs into mpgs.. It calls ffmpeg by default. ZProcess gets inbetween and calls what ever it wants. GB-PVR is ok with that.
  • ZProcess should be as easy as download and copy files in zip to devnz/gbpvr/third party/ZTools (remember the new required file: ffmpeg-alt.exe)

  • You run ZProcess the first time, it asks you PAL or NTSC and then whether you should add references (you say yes)

  • To add TS support follow instructions from my download thread.

  • And it should all be fine...
