Would it be possible to integrate XBMC into GBPVR? It has a very impressive media playback capability. I used to run it on my Xbox and always loved it.

XBMC does not contain TV GUIDE et all unlike GBPVR.

I have to agree though, the interface in XBMC is really fantastic - especially the VIDEO media information flexibility

I was thinking if the audio and video media playback portions were integrated into GBPVR, then it would be very excellent.

Not sure what the purpose would be. I have tried XBMC and it indeed gives good HD playback, but not nearly as efficiently as a properly configured GBPvr. Both programs produce an excellent display, but XBMC uses about 60% processor utilization to playback a HD TS file while GBPvr uses less than 10%. This is obviously due to hardware acceleration, but I have not found a way to enable hwa in XBMC.

hwa in XBMC doesn't exist, which is it's main disadvantage when talking HD content.
Currently I switch between GBPVR for my recorded shows and XBMC for my other media. (movies, music, etc...) I just love the way XBMC handles all my movies and metadata for them.
I'm hoping that CS comes up with some nice skins with the new features added (Slick) and I just found a Video Library plugin (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=39976) that hopefully will better handle my library needs.

The only thing that would be missing then is a way to do the metadata scraping from within GBPVR. For high WAF support, it would need to be done without leaving the app.

I just took a look. That looks great. Exactly what was missing...

I had not seen that thread. That is great! Can't wait for some more visually appealing skins to utilize the new features for skinning. Keep up the good work!
