are you in Pal land? i just usually use mencoder to do a straight semi-encode to a single file...goes from dvd to a single mpg. with audio already adjusted...single line...Smile

Code:
mencoder.exe -cache 8192 -vfm ffmpeg -vf pullup,softskip  -ofps 24000/1001 -alang en  -ovc copy -oac lavc -dvd-device h: dvd://%title% -dvdangle 1 -alang en  -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd:tsaf:telecine  -lavcopts vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=9800:vmax_b_frames=2:keyint=15:acodec=mp2:abitrate=128:autoaspect -idx -af volume=8 -o "%dvdvol%.mpg"
where %title% is title # to play on disk
and %dvdvol% is output file name...
and h: should be adjusted to your dvd drv letter...
this only works for ntsc...pal one is different...
basically a one stop rip command...doesn't change video quality at all, just copies..
really fast too..Smile

Yeah, I know that the quality of experience of the MVP goes out the window when using the MVP and On the Fly Transcoding, but DVDs can be transcoded on the fly.

As sub has mentioned the MVP won't play a DVD, nor even navigate into a DVD format subfolder, so that VOBs can be exposed and transcoded...

(I sure would like to defeat that lock - ZProcess would integrate much easier with that)

In the meantime, you can store your DVD VOBs in non DVD structured folders (where there is no VIDEO_TS folder) That way you can navigate with the MVP and play a VOB... (ZProcess would string the vobs together into one contiguous movie...)

Remember, a default installation of GB-PVR won't transcode VOBs either. Some modifications must be made, and I recomemend ZProcess for that...
