Thanks for looking at them!

So far GBPVR is the best looking media program I've tried, I really want this to work. I have been using "DVBViewer Pro" to watch ATSC but with "TV-Browser" for the EPG (since it has a plugin to control DVBViewer and the native epg you get with DVB in America that DVBViewer uses is horrible). This combination works well but is ugly and limited (although DVBViewer has exceptional controls for picking decoders and tweaking how the rendering is done)

In my pvrx2.exe-native.log, I get:
Quote:2009-01-10 09:02:03.632 INFO DirectShowPlayerBase::playMusicFile(http://streaming.mediaworks.co.nz/kiwifm...WMExt=.asf)

2009-01-10 09:02:05.147 VERBOSE - WMAudio Decoder DMO
2009-01-10 09:02:05.148 VERBOSE - SOURCE

You get:
Quote:2009-01-09 12:42:47.640 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
2009-01-09 12:42:47.656 VERBOSE audio renderer filter: SigmaTel C-Major Audio

For whatever reason, directshow isnt managing to render the URL to find an appropriate set of components to play that stream. I'm not really sure what you'd tweak to correct this. GB-PVR doesnt really play much of a part in this, and just asks Windows to find an appropriate set of decoders etc.

You could try setting the audio renderer back to 'system default', the same as me, but I'm not sure it'll change anything.

If you download GraphEdit, and select the 'render URL' menu option, then paste in "http://streaming.mediaworks.co.nz/kiwifmakl_high?MSWMExt=.asf", I suspect it'll have the same problem as GB-PVR is having. It might give you a more useful error message though.

switched back to default audio and got this:

DirectShowPlayerBase::playMusicFile(http://streaming.mediaworks.co.nz/kiwifm...WMExt=.asf)
2009-01-09 13:43:10.531 VERBOSE getSetting(PreferredAudioRenderer)
2009-01-09 13:43:10.531 VERBOSE Using WM ASF Reader...
2009-01-09 13:43:15.859 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters)
2009-01-09 13:43:15.859 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
2009-01-09 13:43:15.859 VERBOSE - SOURCE
2009-01-09 13:43:15.859 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

yep, missing parts

GraphStudio (graphedit replacement) couldn't render it either. But WMP standalone can play it, and the WMP plug in for Firefox can play it by opening a WMP screen in Firefox.

WOW my IE cannot play it. Are you calling the IE WMP plugin to play files? Or maybe the stream needs a file(s) that comes with the IE WMP activex plugin?

Hmm, I haven"t used IE in a long time, I don't see a WMP plugin in the list for it. the live video on my IE home page is broke too, it just downloaded a WMV9 codec and started working, pic and sound.

closed and restarted IE and GBPVR, no difference in results or new log file.

also still don't see a WMP plugin/activex listing in IE. Do you think I need that?

I think my issue may be an upgrade of IE to the beta 8 version, then going back to IE7. I still get hints that websites think I'm running IE8 beta when I'm not. I also removed as much IE addon baggage as I could, I definitely don't have any WMP efeences in the plug in list and can't find it as an add on to reinclude.

Any help from anybody?

When I try to add my station to the xml or edit an existing station with my info, nothing plays, the screensaver doesn't show a URL, and the log file has no entry that it even tried. what am I doing wrong?

this plays fine in WMP, Firefox, and IE:

What did you try to add to the xml file? I'll try it here.
