Config Crashes 1.2.9

Config is crashing on my PC. I am using GB-PVR Version 1.2.9 The only change I have made to it is upgrading thee firewall which is PC Tools to version 5.0. Prior to that config worked fine. Now opening config and selecting a tab freezes the machine.

I know that it is firewall related but am unsure what to do. If I disable the firewall everything works fine. I have given Full Access to GBPVR Recording Service and to PVRX2. Would the hot fix for 1.13 solve this problem? If so how can I obtain it as the link didn't work?

Hello....
I did some research on PC tools website and found out if "Enable Enhanced Security Verification" is checked on the settings page it causes the crash. Unchecking it resolves the problem. Hope this helps others using this firewall.

When you first installed the Firewall ...
It would have been Enhanced Security Verification that was causing you problems.
e.g. Hangs, Freezes, Lags & Choppy-Games
PC Tools know there is a big problem with this part of the Firewall.
A Lot of people are waiting for it to be fixed
Turning Enhanced Security Verification - OFF would have solved your problems ... And you could have kept your Firewall.

Why do I think the Firewall hasn't uninstalled properly?
The bit you're saying about your games being Choppy.
I'm using PC Tools Firewall Plus perfectly Fine
But With... Enhanced Security Verification - OFF
If I was to turn Enhanced Security Verification back ON again....
I would experience very similar problems to you

Good work Tim. I just found and installed PCTools Firewall. Except for the problem you mention and I found independent of this thread, I am really impressed (at least so far). I used to use ZoneAlarm until the version I had installed became corrupt (reinstall didn't help). I tried Comodo Firewall (which seemed to work well for a while, then seemed to develop a lot of leaks that I had nothing to do with), and then Sunbelt (Kerio) Personal Firewall (which I tried long ago and again just recently and found unnecessarily difficult to manage and would not allow management of a few key items like the AVG updater). Switching back to ZoneAlarm, I find that they have dummed down the interface to something that is less useful than the Windows Firewall.

So now I am using PC Tools Firewall. As I said before, I like it very much. I wonder if the "enhanced Security Verification" (ESV) is what they talk about working with their virus protection program? I wonder if ESV does anything for the firewall when their antivirus is not installed?

BTW- I'm still using GBPVR 1.2.9 as well (and have no plans for upgrade until I have a fix for a video problem associated with PVRx2), so I can't answer your question about 1.13. (or is that 1.3.11 that you're referring to?)
