I just got my 2250 setup and working and I recorded 2 shows last night. When I watch them, everything is fine until about 2/3 of the way through, the video jumps back to an earlier part of the recording and the time line is messed up (IE, it says the recording is 85 minutes long and there are unusual commercial spots) If I hit fast forward, it no longer skips through the video, but "plays" it really fast and when i get to roughly the same place, it then again jumps back, so I cannot watch the end of the show.

Under processing I have comskip run during recording (always worked fine with analog recording) Should I have it convert TS to Mpeg2 in order for it to skip commercials properly?

If you download VLC and try playing this file, does it have the same problem?

It plays fine in Media Player Classic, I can download and try VLC. If I start a show and start fast forwarding it, you can watch the commercial blackout sections change slightly in size, like its recalculating where they should be, until it messes up.

Edit: It looks like VLC will also use the comskip info:
VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of '\\pvr-pc\TV (E)\American Idol\American Idol_20090128_20002100.txt' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details.

It says the same thing about the Lost recording. I will try downloading Comskip again and recording another 1 hour show ot see what happens.

I cant really think of any reason for this, but reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

It'd be worth deleting any comskip .txt/.edl files associated with that file first though, in case they're causing it to skip in lots of places.

Ok, I deleted all the comskip stuff, and left just the lost.TS file in the folder. I fast forwarded, around 40 minutes in, it again jumped back to the beginning. I then fast forwarded to 39 minutes and let it play, and its fine, until it either it tried to skip the next commercial block, or I hit fast forward. Also, when it hits this spot, the time line changes, it says the show is 55 minutes long, then 53, and just keeps changing. Also the arrow showing where we are in the recording bounces around. Sometimes it shows a big negative number on the left side. I changed the video codec which didn't help. Its like it gets to around 4gb into the file and freaks out.

Thats pretty old. You're not running the current 1.3.11 release (or have installed some old patch incorrectly). There were several fixes to .ts file playback in this latest, including a bug that could cause a problem similar to you describe.
