are you sure you have the rf cable on the rf out of the video and into the tuner card

My old sony vcr had an option to disable RF out. maybe check you don't have this setting enebled on your vcr???

Yes. I have the RF cable on the RF out. I have tuned it to a station.
My VCR does not have any option to disable RF out.
